Battery Backup FAQ

Straight answers for Texas battery backup, 12V LiFePO4, certified ESS, installer support, and commercial storage projects. We keep the language practical because the right answer depends on loads, ZIP, utility, and the paperwork path.

Sizing

What information do you need before quoting a battery backup system?

ZIP code, backup loads, panel photos, service voltage, utility/AHJ notes, install timing, delivery access, and whether the job needs a certified ESS path.

Well pump

Can a battery system run a Texas well pump?

Often yes, but we check motor horsepower, starting surge, pump control box, runtime target, and recharge plan before recommending inverter and battery size.

DFW

Do you deliver locally?

Qualifying DFW hardware orders can receive free local delivery during the promotion. Freight outside DFW is quoted after ZIP and delivery review.

Paperwork

Can you help with Oncor or AHJ paperwork?

We can help installers prepare equipment lists, one-line concepts, datasheet packets, and startup notes. The licensed contractor remains responsible for permits and code compliance.

Certified ESS

When do I need a UL9540 certified system?

If the city, utility, inspector, or project owner requires a certified ESS path, use a product combination with matching UL9540 paperwork. We do not stretch certification claims.

Value path

Is the Vestwoods + Megarevo value package UL9540 certified?

No UL9540 system claim should be made unless matching system paperwork exists. We position it as a value backup path, not a certified residential ESS path.

12V

What are 12V LiFePO4 batteries best for?

Gate operators, cameras, fences, RV and marine house banks, traffic trailers, arrow boards, speed signs, job-site cameras, and small solar DC loads.

Commercial

What C&I sites are worth reviewing?

Sites with high peak demand, outage cost, remote operations, 208/480V three-phase service, backup loads, oilfield loads, or microgrid/VPP interest are worth a fit review.

Support

Do you install systems?

We focus on product supply, project support, design review, startup guidance, and installer collaboration. Field work should be done by qualified local electricians or installers.
